The title of the inaugural Bonn Open will be contested between Hugo Dellien of Bolivia and Germany’s Maximilian Marterer, as both players won their semi-final matches on Saturday.

World No. 130 Dellien faced off against Spaniard Martin Landaluce to kick off a sunny Saturday of tennis on Centre Court at the Bonner Tennis- und Hockey-Verein. The former Top 100 player from South America impressed with his experience, securing the first break and taking the set 7-5.

In the second set, Landaluce managed to break first, but he couldn’t hold his serve and even suffered a double break. This turned out to be the decisive moment in a tight match, allowing Dellien to clinch his spot in the championship match of the ATP Challenger Tour 75 clay-court event in Germany after one hour and 44 minutes, winning 7-5, 6-3.

Marterer shows consistent performance

Later in the afternoon, Benjamin Hassan of Lebanon and Maximilian Marterer competed for the second spot in Sunday’s final. Marterer, a former World No. 45, won 6-3, 7-6(3) after one hour and 41 minutes to reach the stage of the final for the first time this season.

Arribage and Luz win doubles Title

In the doubles final, Theo Arribage and Orlando Luz triumphed over the Indian duo Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Vijay-Sundar Prashanth. The top-seeded French-Brazilian team won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, becoming the first doubles champions in the history of the Bonn Open.
