Dellien Wins Inaugural Bonn Open

BONN/STARNBERG, August 11, 2024

Hugo Dellien has clinched the title of the inaugural Bonn Open. The No. 3 seed of the ATP Challenger Tour 75 clay-court tournament defeated second-seeded German Maximilian Marterer 7-6(2), 6-0 in Sunday’s singles final.

Dellien withstood six aces and broke his rival four times. The 31-year-old Bolivian won 57 per cent of the total points played to succeed in one hour and 40 minutes.

Dellien’s triumph in Bonn marks his second consecutive ATP Challenger Tour title. The former World No. 64 lifted the trophy in Liberec, Czech Republic last Sunday. The World No. 130 earned €10,200 in prize money as well as 75 ATP Ranking points, which helps him to make a significant move back towards the Top 100.

Marterer pocketed a prize purse of €6,015 as well as 44 ATP Ranking points and is also on the verge of returning to the Top 100 tennis players in the world.
