RENNES/STARNBERG, September 5, 2024
Adrian Mannarino has received a wild card into the 2024 Open Blot Rennes. The World No. 42 from France and former Top 20 player is the highest-ranked player ever to participate in the ATP Challenger Tour 100 tournament. The 18th edition of the Open Blot Rennes will kick off on Sunday.
Having played in the event in Brittany seven times before (2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012), Mannarino returns to Le Liberte venue with its 3,500-seat capacity for the first time since 2019.
Matthieu Blesteau, tournament director, said: “We are very pleased to once again welcome Adrian Mannarino, a Top 50 player, to the Open Blot Rennes. He was ranked in the Top 25 not too long ago. He’s a spectacular player, and his presence confirms that the tournament can still draw big names and highly-ranked players, even though it remains a Challenger 100 event.”
Nicolas Mahut, sporting director, stated: “It’s a great joy to welcome Adrian, and a real boost for the Open Blot Rennes. With players like Richard Gasquet and Benoit Paire also participating this year, there will be plenty of emotion and excitement on the central court. Adrian is one of the best French players in recent years.”
