Francesco Passaro has captured the title of the AON Open Challenger-Memorial Giorgio Messina in Genoa, Italy. In the singles final, which was postponed from Sunday to Monday due to bad weather, the No. 6 seed of the ATP Challenger Tour 125 clay-court event defeated third-seeded Spaniard Jaume Munar 7-5, 6-3.

Passaro saved both break points he faced and capitalized on two of his own six break-point opportunities to secure victory in one hour and 45 minutes.

Passaro lifted his third ATP Challenger Tour career trophy, his second of the season following another triumph on home soil at the Piemonte Open in Turin in May. The 23-year-old Perugia native earned €20,300 in prize money as well as 125 ATP Ranking points.
