Tung-Lin Wu has capped his dream week in Thailand by winning the Bangkok Challenger. The 26-year-old from Chinese Taipei battled his way from the qualifying to the championship match, beating US-American Mackenzie McDonald 6-3, 7-6(4) on Sunday.

Wu beat sixth-seeded Argentine Marco Trungelliti, Denis Yevseyev of Kazakhstan, Dalibor Svrcina from the Czech Republic and Australian James McCabe in the previous rounds of the main draw of the ATP Challenger Tour 100 hard-court event.

The World No. 315 fired 12 aces in the final and won 85 per cent of his first-service points. Wu saved the only break point he faced and converted one of his own eight break-point chances to prevail after two hours and one minutes.

By winning his second ATP Challenger Tour career title, his first trophy since 2022 Tallahassee, Wu pocketed $18,230 in prize money as well as 100 ATP Ranking points.

The 2024 Bangkok Challenger offered a total prize purse of $133,250 and was held at the Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand in Nonthaburi, a vibrant city located just northwest of Bangkok. Known for its rich cultural heritage, Nonthaburi offers a mix of traditional Thai life and modern urban amenities.
