Frenchman Mathys Erhard claimed the title at the Brasil Tennis Classic held at Clube Paineiras do Morumby in Sao Paulo. In the ITF World Tennis Tour M25 final, the 23-year-old defeated Chile’s Matias Soto with a commanding 6-3, 6-3 victory.

Erhard, who trains at the All In Academy in southern France owned by former top-10 player Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, capped off his 2024 season with this title after winning M25 tournaments in Serbia and Spain earlier in the year. He also competed in ATP Challengers in Guayaquil and Lima before his triumph in Sao Paulo.

Seeded fourth and ranked World No. 318, Erhard ended third-seeded Soto’s nine-match winning streak. In the decisive match on Jaime Oncins Court, Erhard outmaneuvered his opponent with consistent baseline play and strong serving. The victory marks his ninth career title and his sixth at the ITF M25 level.

“I wasn’t feeling great coming into this event, having struggled in recent Challengers,” Erhard said post-match. “But with each win here, my confidence grew. I knew Soto was a solid player, so I gave my all, and it paid off.”

Erhard earned 25 ATP Ranking points and $3,600 in prize money. Runner-up Soto, ranked World No. 303, received 16 points and $2,120.

Doubles Final

The doubles title went to the Argentine duo of Valentin Basel and Lautaro Falabella, who defeated compatriots Ignacio Monzon and Bautista Vilicich 6-3, 6-2 in Saturday’s final. The winners took home $1,550 and 25 ATP ranking points, while the runners-up earned $900 and 16 points.
