ITF Press Release, January 24, 2025

The 50 nations competing in the 2025 Davis Cup World Group I & World Group II Play-offs have announced their teams for ties being played over the first weekend of February.

The list of 123 players nominated by their nations includes Nuno Borges (Portugal), Zhang Zhizhen (China, P.R.), Aleksandr Shevchenko (Kazakhstan) and Damir Dzumhur (Bosnia & Herzegovina).

The ties take place over a bumper weekend in the men’s World Cup of Tennis, with 26 nations also set to contest the Davis Cup Qualifiers 1st Round (30 January – 2 February).

Ties will be played as best-of-five matches, with two singles matches on day one, followed by the doubles match and the two reverse singles matches on day two. All matches are played as best-of-three tiebreak sets.

The World Group II Play-off tie between Paraguay and Syria has been cancelled following a withdrawal from Syria. Paraguay have been granted a walkover and will play a World Group II tie in September.
