LONDON, June 11, 2016

The qualifying draw for the €1,928,610 Aegon Championships has been made, and sees last year’s runner-up and current World No.20 Kevin Anderson as the top seed.

Anderson, underwent ankle surgery in March, did not enter the main draw, but has entered qualifying, and could still make it through if he wins his two matches over the weekend.

He has been drawn against British wild card Ed Corrie.

Elsewhere, Vasek Pospisil, a Wimbledon quarterfinalist last year, takes on young US-American wild card Stefan Kozlov, a Wimbledon junior runner-up in 2014.

Exciting 18-year-old US-American Frances Tiafoe, one of the ATP World Tour’s #NextGen stars – is also in the draw, but he faces a difficult assignment in the opening round against World No.66, John Millman, who made it to the second round in Stuttgart this week.

The winner awaits either British wild card Alexander Ward or sixth seed Donald Young. The pair will square off for the first time.

In the main draw starting on Monday, defending champion Andy Murray will be aiming for a record fifth title when he opens his 2016 grass court campaign. He will be challenged by top 10 players Stan Wawrinka, Milos Raonic and Richard Gasquet. 2014 US-Open champion Marin Cilic and Grigor Dimitrov, who won at The Queen’s Club two years ago, are also part of the line-up. The Croat as well as the Bulgarian played this week in Stuttgart, but suffered an early defeat, losing their opening matches.
