ROSARIO/STARNBERG, February 10, 2025
Camilo Ugo Carabelli claimed the title at the first edition of the YPF Rosario Challenger, the most prestigious ATP Challenger Tour event in Argentina. Demonstrating incredible physical endurance throughout the week—spending a total of 11 hours and 51 minutes on court over five matches—the Argentine overcame a slow start against Bolivia’s Hugo Dellien to win Sunday’s final 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
The opening set, marked by momentum swings, went in Dellien’s favor after both players exchanged three-game runs. The 31-year-old Bolivian then secured an early break in the second set, but the home crowd’s support sparked a spirited response from Ugo Carabelli, who won six of the next eight games to level the match. For the fifth consecutive time in the tournament, both players found themselves battling in a deciding set. Dellien took an early 2-0 lead, but the Argentine held his nerve and reeled off six consecutive games to clinch his eighth ATP Challenger Tour title. With this victory at the Jockey Club de Rosario, Ugo Carabelli also broke into the Top 90 for the first time.

“This is an excellent tournament, and I congratulate the organizers. It deserves to become an ATP event,” said Ugo Carabelli, who earned $28,400 in prize money as well as 125 ATP Ranking points. He also praised Dellien for his impressive performance throughout the week and for the tough challenge in the final.
Additionally, the World No. 110 expressed gratitude to his physiotherapist, who played a crucial role in managing an elbow issue that had forced him to retire in the quarterfinals of the Piracicaba Challenger. “I didn’t expect to even finish a long match, let alone battle for five days in a row and win the title. Fortunately, our recovery work this week paid off.”
The champion is now shifting his focus to the Argentina Open, where he has received a wild card into the main draw. “Now, I’ll eat, take a shower, and head straight to Buenos Aires. Tomorrow, I plan to train a bit to adjust to the conditions there. I have a very tough match against Baez on Tuesday,” Ugo Carabelli shared about his next challenge at the ATP 250 event in Buenos Aires, which begins on Monday.
