DELRAY BEACH/STARNBERG, February 16, 2025
Miomir Kecmanovic is back in an ATP Tour final. The Serbian secured his spot in his fifth tour-level championship match—and his first since 2023—by defeating US-American Alex Michelsen 7-6(3), 6-3 in the Delray Beach Open semifinals on Saturday.
Despite missing two set points while serving at 6-5 in the opening set, Kecmanovic kept his composure, winning the tie-break to claim the lead. In the second set, he saved both break points he faced and sealed the victory in 90 minutes.

“It was a tough match, especially with the wind. It wasn’t easy,” Kecmanovic said. “Obviously, him playing so big, I tried to make him play as much as possible and thankfully he was playing off today.”
Davidovich Fokina beats Arnaldi
The World No. 56 will take on Alejandro Davidovich Fokina of Spain, who secured a 6-4, 6-4 win over fourth-seeded Italian Matteo Arnaldi in a high-quality shotmaking encounter from both players. Both sets saw momentum swings, with three service breaks in each. However, Davidovich Fokina remained steadier in key moments, while Arnaldi struggled with 38 unforced errors, compared to the Spaniard’s 25.

“I cannot describe with words how I feel right now,” Davidovich Fokina said. “All the work we’ve put in, my team and I every day, to be in one final again, it’s not easy. I’m very, very happy for this win and I’m ready for tomorrow.”
Kecmanovic, who is seeking his second ATP Tour career title after Kitzbühel 2020, leads the pair’s head-to-head record 2-0. Davidovich Fokina is bidding for his maiden tour-level career crown.
