The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has announced the draw for the 2025 Davis Cup World Group I, which took place in London today. The 13 World Group I ties will take place on either 12-13 or 13-14 September 2025, with host nations having choice of dates.
World Group I will take place over the same weekend as the 2025 Qualifiers 2nd Round, which will see 14 nations compete to secure their place at the 2025 Davis Cup Final 8 in Bologna on 18-23 November, and World Group II. The draw for World Group II took place last month.
The teams competing in World Group I are the 13 losing nations from the 2025 Qualifiers 1st Round and the 13 winning nations from the 2025 World Group I Play-offs. The 13 winning nations will advance to the 2026 Qualifiers 1st Round, with a chance of winning the 2026 Davis Cup title. The 13 losing nations will compete in the 2026 World Group I Play-offs.
All ties in the Qualifiers 2nd Round, World Group I and World Group II will be played as best-of-five matches, with two singles matches on day one, followed by the doubles match and the two reverse singles matches on day two. All matches are played as best-of-three tiebreak sets.
