POZNAN, March 18, 2025

The 2025 Enea Poznan Open, set to take place from June 15-21, promises a week of high-level tennis action. This year’s edition is particularly special, marking the tournament’s 30th anniversary. Hosted at the Olimpia Tennis Park in Poznań, the event has a rich history and has served as a stepping stone for many rising stars.

Making Polish Tennis History

The tournament’s journey began in 1992 when legendary Polish tennis player Wojciech Fibak and his associates decided to relocate an ATP Challenger event from Warsaw to Poznan. Since then, the tournament has become a fan-favorite, attracting packed crowds and serving as a launchpad for future tennis greats. Some of the biggest names in tennis, including Marat Safin, Yevgeny Kafelnikov, Juan Carlos Ferrero, David Goffin, Pablo Carreno Busta, and Mariano Navone, have earned ATP ranking points on these courts.

For 30 editions, the tournament in Poznań has been a tennis feast—not only for the tennis community but also for local residents and sports enthusiasts. It’s a rare opportunity to see world-class players up close. Every year, we also grant wild cards to Polish players, supporting the growth of Polish tennis,” says Krzysztof Jordan, Tournament Director of the Enea Poznan Open.

History has shown that winning in Poznan can be a career-defining moment. Past Polish champions include Jerzy Janowicz (2012), Hubert Hurkacz (2018), and last year’s winner, Maks Kasnikowski.

“In Poznan, I played my best tennis and won my second ATP Challenger title, which helped me qualify for the US Open,” Kasnikowski recalled after his 2024 victory. This year, he will return to defend his title.

A Special Celebration: Higher Status, Bigger Rewards

The 30th edition of the Enea Poznan Open is not just a milestone—it also marks an upgrade in tournament status. For the first time, the event will be an ATP Challenger 100, an increase from its previous Challenger 75 status.

“We are proud to have received this promotion, which recognizes our commitment to organizing a top-tier event. The winner will earn 100 ATP ranking points, attracting higher-ranked players. However, with this higher status come greater demands, making it an exciting challenge for us,” says Ewelina Sterczewska, manager of Olimpia Tennis Park.

The tournament’s prize pool has also increased to €145,250, with the champion taking home over €20,000.

Enea Poznan Open: More Than Just Tennis

Beyond the on-court action, the Enea Poznan Open is also known for its community engagement. Olimpia Tennis Park actively supports social, cultural, and environmental initiatives. Like in previous years, the 2025 tournament will feature various side events, ensuring a memorable experience for both tennis fans and the local community.
