HAMBURG, March 18, 2025

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner has confirmed his participation in the Hamburg Open scheduled for May 17-24, 2025. The Italian superstar will play at the Rothenbaum Tennis complex for the first time in his career, further elevating an already star-studded ATP 500 tournament lineup.

Before Sinner’s announcement, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Holger Rune, Andrey Rublev, Gael Monfils, and Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff had already committed to the event. With such an elite field, world-class tennis is guaranteed.

The 23-year-old Sinner recently claimed the Australian Open title in January, marking his third Grand Slam victory. His impressive résumé also includes four ATP Masters 1000 titles and a triumph at the ATP Finals in Turin last November. He will be the first World No. 1 to compete at the Rothenbaum in Hamburg since Roger Federer in 2008.

“I’m really excited to play at the historic Hamburg Open for the first time. The fans create an amazing atmosphere on the beautiful center court. I can’t wait to finally experience Hamburg and compete at Rothenbaum,” said Sinner.

“The participation of Jannik Sinner, the current World No. 1 and three-time Grand Slam champion, is a tremendous asset for our tournament and a historic moment. We are proud and very excited to host Jannik and all the other top players, creating a true tennis celebration for our fans,” tournament director Enric Molina added.
