Russian teenager Alisa Oktiabreva, just 16 years old, captured the title at the ITF W35 tournament in Leme, Brazil, part of the Circuito Banco BRB/ENGIE de Tenis Profissional. In Sunday’s final, held at the Clube de Campo Empyreo, the young rising star stunned fourth seed and world No. 362 Gergana Topalova of Bulgaria with a commanding 6-1, 7-5 win in one hour and 26 minutes.

With the victory, Oktiabreva, ranked No. 569 in the world, earned 35 valuable WTA Ranking points and pocketed $4,860 in prize money. This marks the Russian’s third professional title, having previously won the ITF W15 Antalya in 2024 and the ITF W35 Antalya in 2025, both in Turkey.

The tournament in Leme was also Oktiabreva’s first appearance in South America—and her debut in Brazil. “I feel amazing with this title. I’m very happy to be going home with this trophy,” the teenager said. “Thank you to everyone who made this tournament possible.”

Danilo Gaino, president of the São Paulo Tennis Federation, emphasized the importance of hosting professional events like this one in the state. The W35 in Sao Paulo took place the week before the Leme event. “Promoting these professional tournaments in São Paulo is a priority for the Federation. We began our term with two women’s events—one in São Paulo and one in Leme—with the goal of strengthening women’s tennis in the state and creating opportunities for Brazilian players to earn ranking points while playing at home,” Gaino stated. “We also have two men’s tournaments (W25) scheduled for the second half of the year.”
