AIX-EN-PROVENCE/STARNBERG, April 27, 2025
The official launch press conference for the Open Aix Provence Credit Agricole was held on Saturday at the iconic Country Club Aixois, setting the stage for the start of the tournament. Just days before the matches begin, this event marked the formal opening of the 12th edition of a competition that has become a key stop on the ATP Challenger Tour.
Led by Arnaud Clement, former professional player and tournament director, the press conference gathered numerous prominent figures from the world of sports, local institutions, and politics. Among the distinguished guests were Sophie Joissains (Mayor of Aix-en-Provence), Cyrille Blint (Departmental Councillor), David Galtier (Vice President of the Metropolitan Area), Hervé Liberman (Regional Councillor), Didier Garcia (Secretary General of the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur Tennis League), Frank Alexandre (President of Crédit Agricole Alpes Provence), and Didier Marazzani (President of the Country Club Aixois).
During the conference, Clement emphasized the tournament’s strategic timing, just a few weeks ahead of Roland-Garros. “The Open Aix Provence has become an important event for players seeking high-quality preparation,” he stated. The tournament’s upgrade to ATP Challenger 175 status reflects this ambition, attracting players from the world’s Top 50.
Running from April 28 to May 4, the 12th edition will feature a rich program, with free access for spectators in the stands, staying true to the tournament’s spirit of openness. The finals are scheduled for Sunday, May 4, with the highlight being the singles final at 2:00 p.m. local time.
