Middle Sunday has staged Wimbledon action for the first time since 2004 when Australian entertainer Nick Kyrgios has dispatched of Feliciano López in sumptuous fashion, completing a 6-3, 6-7, 6-3, 6-4 win to set up a mouth-watering fourth round contest against the 2013 champion Andy Murray on Manic Monday.
The 15th seed fired 27 aces, winning 70% of his first service points to prevail in two hours and 41 minutes.
“My attitude today pleased me. It was tough coming back out today but I thought the level of tennis was really high,” said the 21-year-old, who believes he can upset Murray.
“Andy Murray on Centre Court at Wimbledon. It doesn’t get much better than that. I’ve got the tools to do it but having said that Andy is one of the best players in the world, he is the favourite. We are great mates and I’m looking forward to it.”
Tomas Berdych has recorded his first win against a seed in Wimbledon since 2013, as he fought past the tournament’s number 24 Alexander Zverev. The 10th seed from the Czech Republic was in control of the match against the German teenager, hitting 44 winners and converted six of his 10 break point chances to advance in two hours and 39 minutes.

Berdych will face fellow Czech Jiri Vesely in the fourth round. The 22-year-old eased past the tournament’s number 31 Joao Sousa 6-2, 6-2, 7-5 in one hour and 33 minutes.
Lucas Pouille knocked out Juan Martin Del Potro, winning 6-7, 7-6, 7-5, 6-1. The 32nd seed from France led with two sets to one when play resumed on Sunday. Pouille sent down 18 aces and converted five of his seven break points to seal victory in two hours and 47 minutes. He will next play Bernard Tomic.
Richard Gasquet beat Albert Ramos-Vinolas 2-6, 7-6, 6-2, 6-3 in a match which was mostly played on Saturday. He’s the fourth Frenchman through to the last 16, taking on compatriot Jo-Wilfried Tsonga next, who battled past John Isner 6-7, 3-6, 7-6, 6-2, 19-17 in four hours and 24 minutes. The pair’s head to head record is tied at 4-4.
