MUNICH, March 17, 2026

The 2026 edition of the BMW Open by Bitpanda promises to deliver one of the most competitive fields ever seen at the Munich tournament. Following the official entry deadline, organizers have confirmed a world-class lineup for the ATP 500 event, which will take place from April 11 to 19 at the MTTC Iphitos.

Leading the field are top stars Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton, and Alexander Bublik. In total, eight players ranked inside the world’s Top 20 will compete in Munich for the first time in the tournament’s history, underlining its growing importance on the ATP Tour.

Among the most exciting talents in the draw are Czech rising star Jakub Mensík, winner of the 2025 Miami Masters, and Italy’s Flavio Cobolli, who has already claimed an ATP 500 title in Acapulco this season. They are joined by fellow Top 20 players such as Luciano Darderi, a recent champion in Santiago, and Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo, who reached the semifinals in Munich last year.

The tournament will also mark the Munich debut of one of the tour’s brightest young sensations, Joao Fonseca. The 19-year-old Brazilian made waves last season with titles in Basel and Buenos Aires and is known for his aggressive, high-octane playing style.

Further adding depth to the field are big names such as Canada’s Denis Shapovalov and Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz, both former Top 10 players. Veteran Marin Cilic, the 2014 US Open champion and 2017 Wimbledon finalist, will also compete, alongside Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas, who is set to make his Munich debut. Tsitsipas, a three-time Monte Carlo Masters champion and ATP Finals winner, is expected to be one of the most dangerous unseeded players in the draw.

“We are proud to present what is likely the strongest player field in the tournament’s history,” said organizer Christian Okon. Tournament director Patrik Kühnen added: “With eight Top 20 players, major stars, and some of the most exciting young talents on the tour, this year’s field is more attractive than ever.”

Fans can expect top-level tennis from the very first round, with all leading players scheduled to begin their campaigns early in the week. While tickets for the quarterfinals and final weekend are already sold out, limited tickets remain available for the opening days and qualifying rounds, offering spectators a final chance to see the world’s best players live in Munich.
