PARMA/STARNBERG, April 18, 2026
One year after Mayar Sherif claimed her second consecutive title, the Parma Ladies Open is ready to return in style. From May 11 to 16, 2026, the tournament will once again take place on the clay courts of the Tennis Club Parma, marking its sixth edition with a field that promises top-level competition.
Scheduled during the second week of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia, the event will feature an impressive entry list including 21 Top 100 players. Leading the field is China’s Xinyu Wang, currently ranked No. 32 in the world and coming off a strong run to the fourth round of the Australian Open. She is joined by US-American Ann Li, a two-time WTA Tour champion whose breakthrough title came in Tenerife in 2021.
The line-up also includes a mix of established names and rising stars. Among them are the Philippines’ Alexandra Eala and former Grand Slam champion Sofia Kenin, who lifted the Australian Open trophy in 2020 and reached the Roland Garros final later that same year. Fellow US-American Taylor Townsend, one of the leading doubles players of her generation, will also be part of a strong U.S. contingent.
Defending champion Sherif returns to a venue that has brought her significant success. The Egyptian lifted the WTA 125 title in Parma last year and had already triumphed at the same location in 2022, when she captured her first WTA 250 crown by defeating Maria Sakkari in the final.
