SANTOS/STARNBERG, April 23, 2026
As part of the centennial celebrations of the Tenis Clube de Santos, the 2026 Santos Brasil Tennis Cup promises an exciting week of high-level competition from May 3 to 10. The ATP Challenger 50 tournament will feature both singles and doubles draws, offering a total prize pool of $63,000 and 50 ATP ranking points to the champion. Fans will be able to attend the event free of charge, with entry granted via prior reservation.
Now in its eighth edition, the tournament brings together players from ten countries, predominantly from South America, underlining the importance of the ATP Challenger Tour in providing valuable ranking opportunities without the need for long-distance travel. This regional strength continues to support the development and progression of emerging talents.
Argentina’s Santiago Rodriguez Taverna, currently ranked No. 255 in the world, headlines the field as the top seed. Among the six Brazilian players confirmed in the main draw, Eduardo Ribeiro and Matheus Pucinelli stand out as strong contenders for a maiden title. Pucinelli came close to lifting the trophy in 2025 but finished runner-up to Ecuador’s Alvaro Guillen Meza.
Tournament director Danilo Marcelino emphasized the significance of the event: “We are very happy to return to the Tenis Clube de Santos with this ATP Challenger, which carries even greater importance during the club’s 100-year celebration. Challenger tournaments play a key role in the rise of professional players, and providing high-quality events is central to our mission.”
The tournament is part of the ATP Challenger Tour calendar and is supported by key national and regional tennis organizations, as well as multiple sponsors. It is organized by Instituto Sports and incentivized through Brazil’s Federal Sports Incentive Law.
