Matilde Jorge continued her remarkable dominance at the Oeiras CETO Open by winning the doubles title for the third consecutive year, securing the third WTA 125 doubles crown of her career at the 10th edition of the tournament in Oeiras.

Partnering Belgium’s Sofia Costoulas for the first time, Jorge defeated the Belgian duo of Magali Kempen and Lara Salden 6-4, 6-2 in Saturday’s final to complete a flawless week on the clay courts of the Clube Escola de Tenis de Oeiras. Costoulas stepped in as Jorge’s partner after an abdominal injury ruled out her usual teammate and sister, Francisca Jorge.

This latest triumph marks Jorge’s third straight doubles title in Oeiras, but her first since the event was elevated to WTA 125 status. Her previous two victories alongside Francisca Jorge came when the tournament was still part of the ITF W100 circuit.

At just 22 years old, Jorge now holds the Portuguese record for the most finals and titles at WTA 125 level, adding to another milestone achieved earlier this year when she became the highest-ranked Portuguese doubles player in history, reaching world No. 91.

Following the title win, Jorge expressed her satisfaction with the new partnership: she praised the team chemistry with Costoulas and highlighted how their level improved match by match, culminating in their best tennis in the semifinals and final.

Jorge also revealed that she will soon make her debut on the WTA Tour main circuit at the WTA Rabat Open in Morocco, after narrowly missing out on qualifying for French Open.

The tournament now heads toward a high-profile singles final on Sunday, where Polina Kudermetova will face Fiona Ferro for the title.

Kudermetova, ranked No. 137, continued her impressive run from qualifying with a straight-sets win over Whitney Osuigwe, reaching the biggest final of her career. Her opponent, former world No. 39 Fiona Ferro, booked her place by defeating Linda Klimovicova and will be chasing her first title since 2023.
