Sergey Fomin has captured the title of the 2026 Shymkent Challenger 1. The 25-year-old from Uzbekistan defeated home favourite and top seed of the $63,000 clay-court event, Timofey Skatov, 6-3, 7-5 in Saturday’s singles final.
Fomin advanced to the championship match with wins over Ukrainian qualifier Vladyslav Orlov, fifth-seeded Austrian Sandro Kopp, Max Wiskandt from Germany and No. 4 seed Andrej Nedic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Fomin capitalized on five of his 12 break-point chances and won 55 per cent of the total points played to secure victory in one hour and 51 minutes.

By winning his second ATP Challenger Tour career title, his second in Shymkent after May 2022, the world No. 359 earned $9,500 in prize money as well as 50 ATP Ranking points.
