SANTA PONCA, May 28, 2026 (Media Release)
The Vanda Pharmaceuticals Mallorca Championships has confirmed a high-quality entry list for its 2026 edition. The tournament will be held from 20 to 27 June at the Mallorca Country Club in Santa Ponça, and features the return of Nick Kyrgios, proven grass-court performers and wide representation across the Top 40.
“We are very happy with the strength and balance of this year’s entry list,” said Tournament Director Toni Nadal. “With a Top-10 player in Alexander Bublik, our defending champion Tallon Griekspoor returning, and a deep group of Top-40 players, we can expect a very high level of competition from the first day of the tournament. The arrival of in-form players like Ignacio Buse, as well as the return of Nick Kyrgios, adds further excitement for our fans.”
Bublik leads the charge on grass
At the top of the field is Alexander Bublik (Kazakhstan, ATP No. 10), one of the tour’s most dangerous and entertaining players on grass. With his powerful serve and inventive shot-making, Bublik arrives among the main contenders for the title.
He is joined by a Top-25 group featuring:
- Luciano Darderi (Italy, No. 17)
- Frances Tiafoe (USA, No. 22)
- Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (Spain, No. 23)
Together, they headline a field set to deliver high-quality matches from the opening rounds.
Kyrgios adds star power
The anticipated return of Nick Kyrgios adds further star power to the tournament. The Australian, known for his natural grass-court game and shot-making ability, remains one of the most exciting and entertaining players on tour.
Griekspoor defends title – Moutet returns
The level of the Mallorca field is reinforced by a solid Top-40 core, led by defending champion Tallon Griekspoor (Netherlands, No. 33). The Dutchman returns after lifting the title in Santa Ponça last year and will again be among the players to beat on grass.
Also back is 2025 finalist Corentin Moutet (France, No. 34), raising the prospect of a repeat of last year’s championship match.
Further notable names are Alejandro Tabilo (Chile, No. 36), the 2024 tournament champion, and Mariano Navone (Argentina, No. 38).
Breakthrough Buse arrives in form
One of the standout names in the draw is Ignacio Buse (Peru, No. 31). The 22-year-old arrives in Mallorca in outstanding form, having captured the ATP 500 title in Hamburg last week to secure his maiden ATP Tour trophy.
That breakthrough run marks him as one of the most in-form players in the field and a potential threat on grass.
Davidovich Fokina leads Spanish hopes
Local attention will centre on Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, who heads the Spanish challenge in Santa Ponça. Following an early exit at Roland Garros, the World No. 23 arrives eager to reset on grass and make an impact in front of a home crowd.
His intensity and variety make him one of the most unpredictable and dangerous players in the draw.
Variety and international representation
The line-up extends well beyond the leading names, with a highly competitive field including:
- Alex Michelsen (USA, No. 42)
- Adrian Mannarino (France, No. 45)
- Ethan Quinn (USA, No. 50)
- Nuno Borges (Portugal, No. 51)
- Yannick Hanfmann (Germany, No. 53)
- Fabian Marozsan (Hungary, No. 54)
- Botic van de Zandschulp (Netherlands, No. 55)
- Hamad Medjedovic (Serbia, No. 58)
A key stage on the road to Wimbledon
With a Top-10 headliner, a defending champion returning and one of the tour’s newest title winners arriving in peak form, the Vanda Pharmaceuticals Mallorca Championships continues to underline its role as a key stop in the grass-court swing.
Set against the backdrop of the Mallorca Country Club, the tournament offers ideal conditions for fast-paced tennis and provides players with a final opportunity to fine-tune their games ahead of Wimbledon.
