American Collegiate Playoff Winners Claim US Open Wild Cards

ORLANDO, June 19, 2026 (USTA Media Release)

Reese Brantmeier, Sebastian Gorzny, Brandon Carpico and Nikita Filin and DJ Bennett and Ava Esposito all won main draw wild cards into the US Open on Thursday by winning the American Collegiate Player Wildcard Playoffs held at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.

North Carolina’s Brantmeier and Texas’ Gorzny will make their US Open Singles Main Draw debuts in August after winning the Playoff singles titles on Thursday. Brantmeier defeated Tennessee’s Katrina Scott, 6-4, 7-6(7), and Gorzny defeated SMU’s Trevor Svajda, 6-2, 6-4.

Scott and Svajda earned wild cards into US Open Qualifying as singles finalists.

Ohio State’s Carpico and Filin and Auburn’s DJ Bennett and Ava Esposito earned US Open Doubles Main Draw wild cards by winning the Playoff doubles titles and will both make their team debuts in New York. Filin competed in the 2024 US Open doubles draws with Alexander Razeghi.
