PIRACICABA/STARNBERG, June 28, 2026
Thiago Seyboth Wild captured his first ATP Challenger title in Brazil on Sunday, defeating Argentina’s Gonzalo Villanueva 6-2, 6-2 in the final of the Copa Internacional de Tenis de Piracicaba. Backed by a packed Centre Court at Clube Cristovao Colombo, the 26-year-old Brazilian produced a commanding performance from start to finish to secure the sixth Challenger title of his career.
The victory earned Wild 50 ATP Ranking points and a prize of US$9,500, with the former world No. 58 projected to climb to around No. 242 in the ATP Rankings as he continues his return from an injury-hit period.
The 2018 US Open boys’ champion and 2022 ATP 250 Santiago winner controlled the final throughout. After taking the opening set 6-2 in just 36 minutes, Wild faced a more competitive start to the second before pulling away from the fifth game onward to complete another 6-2 set and wrap up the title in just 76 minutes.

“I’m very happy to win my first Challenger title in Brazil,” Seyboth Wild said after the match. “Thank you to everyone who came out to support us throughout the week. It was a difficult tournament because of the rain, but the fans were always here. Tennis is played week by week, but a good week always gives you extra confidence. I hope this is the beginning of a return to my best tennis.”
Wild also praised the tournament organizers, who managed to complete the event despite heavy rain delaying the schedule throughout the week, with the first round only concluding on Thursday.
For Villanueva, the final marked the best Challenger result of his career. The 31-year-old Argentine was contesting his first Challenger singles final and finished with 25 ATP Ranking points and US$5,500 in prize money after an impressive week in Piracicaba.
The doubles title also remained in Brazilian hands as Paulo Saraiva dos Santos and Luis Felipe Miguel defeated Peruvian brothers Arklon and Conner Huertas Del Pino 6-3, 7-6(0). Entering the draw with a last-minute wildcard, the Brazilian pair completed a dream run to the title, earning 50 ATP Doubles Ranking points and US$2,980 in prize money.
The victory denied the Huertas Del Pino brothers what would have been their 22nd doubles title together.
“I’m very happy with this title,” said Saraiva. “We entered the draw at the last minute with a wildcard and ended up winning the tournament. I’ve known Lipe since we were kids and have trained with him a lot in Brasília. I also want to congratulate Luís Miguel on raising two fantastic sons.”
Luis Felipe Miguel, whose younger brother Guto Miguel won the 2026 Roland Garros boys’ singles title, added: “I’d like to congratulate the tournament organizers on an excellent week and thank my partner for agreeing to play with me. I’m very happy to win this title.”
