The Mubadala DC Open, the world’s only combined ATP-WTA 500-level tournament, has announced its preliminary 2026 main draw ATP and WTA fields, for the 57th edition of the event taking place at William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in Rock Creek Park, Washington, D.C., from July 25 to August 2.
Entering a new era under the Mubadala DC Open name, the fifth-largest professional tennis tournament in the United States is on pace for a sixth consecutive sellout after record ticket demand and another star-studded player field, which includes five Top-10 players, four Grand Slam champions, 15 Top-20 players, four former DC champions, and nine 2026 tour titlists.
“The strength of this year’s player field speaks to what the Mubadala DC Open has become on the global tennis calendar,” said Mark Ein, Chairman of the Mubadala DC Open, in a statement. “Bringing together five of the Top-10 and 15 of the world’s Top 20 players, established champions, fan favorites and the next generation of stars creates an incredible experience for everyone who comes to Washington. As the world’s only combined ATP and WTA 500 tournament, we’re excited to once again showcase the very best of professional tennis in our nation’s capital.”

De Minaur returns to defend his DC Open title
The ATP main draw is headlined by World No. 6 and defending DC Open champion Alex de Minaur of Australia, World No. 7 and 2024 US Open finalist Taylor Fritz of the United States, World No. 9 and 2021 US Open champion Daniil Medvedev of Russia, World No. 4 and nine-time ATP titlist Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada, and Maryland native and World No. 19 Frances Tiafoe.
In addition, former World No. 3 and six-time Grand Slam semifinalist Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece, World No. 15 and two-time Grand Slam semifinalist Lorenzo Musetti of Italy, World No. 18 and 2026 Roland Garros semifinalist Jakub Mensik of Czechia, World No. 23 and 2026 Roland Garros quarterfinalist Rafael Jodar of Spain, World No. 24 and 2026 Barcelona champion Arthur Fils of France, five-time ATP titlist and World No. 25 Tommy Paul of the United States, World No. 30 and 2024 DC Open quarterfinalist Alex Michelsen of the United States, and former World No. 4 and 2015 DC Open champion Kei Nishikori of Japan have entered the field.
“I’m excited to return to Washington and defend my title at the Mubadala DC Open. Last year’s win was a special one, and I’ve always enjoyed playing in front of the fans in DC,” said de Minaur in a statement. “It’s another incredibly strong field this year, so I’m looking forward to the challenge and getting back out on court.”
Svitolina, Osaka, Venus Williams headline WTA field
Meanwhile, the WTA field features World No. 8, two-time 2026 WTA titlist and four-time Grand Slam semifinalist Elina Svitolina of Ukraine, four-time Grand Slam champion and World No. 14 Naomi Osaka of Japan, and seven-time Grand Slam champion and former World No. 1 Venus Williams of the United States. Also, there’s 2026 Madrid champion, Roland Garros semifinalist and World No. 13 Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine, World No. 15 and 2026 Roland Garros semifinalist Diana Shnaider of Russia, World No. 16 and 2025 Guadalajara champion Iva Jovic of the United States, World No. 17 and two-time Grand Slam finalist Jasmine Paolini of Italy, World No. 20 and 2025 DC Open finalist Anna Kalinskaya of Russia, and World No. 22 and 2025 Australian Open champion Madison Keys of the United States.
Also competing are defending champion and World No. 23 Leylah Fernandez of Canada, World No. 26 and 2026 Strasbourg champion Emma Navarro of the United States, World No. 30 and 2025 Miami semifinalist Alexandra Eala of the Philippines and 2022 DC Open champion Liudmila Samsonova of Russia.
“I’m excited to be back in Washington for the Mubadala DC Open,” Osaka said in a statement. “I remember the atmosphere around the tournament being really fun last year, and it’s always nice to play in front of fans who are excited to watch tennis. I’m looking forward to being back on court and competing again this summer in DC.”
The tournament will also welcome several players making their Mubadala DC Open debuts this summer, including Shnaider, Paolini, Mensik, Jodar, Eala and 18-year-old Jovic. She will be joined by fellow rising American star and World No. 17 Learner Tien, giving fans the chance to watch two of the country’s brightest young talents compete alongside some of the sport’s biggest names.
