Ryan Nijboer has once again been crowned champion at the LXI Copa Alameda – XLV Torneo Internacional Villa de Madrid, claiming the title at Club Alameda in Madrid for the third time after previous triumphs in 2022 and 2023.
The 27-year-old Dutchman, currently ranked world No. 532, lived up to his billing as the top seed at the ITF World Tennis Tour M15 clay-court event, defeating second seed Martin van der Meerschen of Belgium 6-4, 7-6(4) in Sunday’s final.
Nijboer struck five aces and won 72 per cent of the total points played to secure victory in one hour and 51 minutes.

He captured his fifth career title on the ITF World Tennis Tour and his second of the 2026 season. His first triumph of the year came in June at the M15 tournament in Mungia-Laukariz, Spain, making this another successful clay-court campaign for the Dutchman.
Returning to a venue where he had already lifted the trophy twice, Nijboer once again proved his affinity for the Club Alameda courts. His latest success also adds another chapter to the history of the long-running Copa Alameda, as he becomes a three-time champion of the prestigious Madrid tournament.
