Facundo Mena has been crowned champion of the CT Porto Cup, defeating second seed Hugo Dellien of Bolivia 7-6(4), 6-4 in Sunday’s final to claim the ATP Challenger 75 title on clay in Porto, Portugal.

The 33-year-old Argentine produced another impressive performance against one of the tournament’s leading seeds after defeating top seed Gustavo Heide 7-6(5), 3-6, 6-3 in the semifinals. Mena had also overcome Patrick Schoen, Max Alcala Gurri and Oriol Roca Batalla on his way to the championship match.

Dellien, meanwhile, reached the final without dropping a set, defeating Frederico Ferreira Silva, Gilles Arnaud Bailly, Miguel Damas and Pedro Vives Marcos.

Mena made the stronger start in the final, taking a 2-0 lead, although Dellien immediately recovered the break. The opening set ultimately went to a tiebreak, where Mena prevailed 7-4.

The second set featured several breaks of serve, with both players struggling to consistently hold their delivery. Mena eventually secured the decisive break in the ninth game and served out the match 6-4 to complete the victory after two hours and 10 minutes.

The title is Mena’s fifth ATP Challenger crown and his first since August 2024. His previous Challenger titles came in Bogota (2024), Cali (2022), Quito (2021) and Como (2019).

The world No. 306 earned €15,510 in prize money as well as 75 ATP Ranking points.

For Mena, the triumph also caps a strong two-week stretch after he reached the final of the Schwaben Open by Great2Stay in Augsburg the previous week. In Porto, he went one step further, defeating both of the tournament’s top two seeds to lift the trophy.
