Zemlja won the only previous meeting between the two in Miami three years ago.

The seventh seed from St. Petersburg eased past the tournament’s number two Renzo Olivo, winning 6-2, 6-4. Kudryavtsev, who also made it to the stage of the final four last year, didn’t face a break point, capitalizing on three of his own to prevail in 65 minutes.
