CURITIBA/STARNBERG, October 4, 2026
The final of the Campeonato Internacional de Tenis de Curitiba is set, with Argentina’s Guido Ivan Justo and Brazil’s Gustavo Heide meeting for the ATP Challenger 75 title this Sunday at the Graciosa Country Club. The final is scheduled for 12 noon local time and will be broadcast live on ESPN 3. The tournament offers total prize money of $107,000.
In the first semifinal on Saturday, 28-year-old Justo overcame Chile’s Tomas Barrios Vera 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 in a marathon lasting almost three hours. The victory sent the Buenos Aires native into the first Challenger 75 final of his career and also guaranteed him a new career-high ranking. Justo, currently No. 239 in the ATP Rankings, will rise to at least No. 211 next week.
Justo has won four ITF World Tennis Tour titles and already claimed his first Challenger trophy this season at the Challenger 50 in Tigre. His run in Curitiba is now the best result of his career.
“I’m very happy to be in the final. Thank you to everyone who came out. It’s incredible how passionate the fans are about tennis in Brazil. Every tournament I play here is always packed, and the fans treat us very well, even off the court,” said Justo. “I’m very happy because this is the result of the work I’ve been doing with my coach, Martin Rondina. I hope to see everyone here again tomorrow.”
Justo’s opponent will be home favourite Gustavo Heide, who booked his place in the final with a convincing 6-2, 6-3 victory over fellow Brazilian Pedro Boscardin Dias, the runner-up in Curitiba in 2025.
Heide is chasing his third Challenger singles title of the season and the fifth of his career. His run in Curitiba has already secured another career-high ATP Ranking. Should he lift the trophy on Sunday, the Brazilian will move even closer to the Top 100 and strengthen his bid to qualify for next year’s Australian Open, one of his main targets for the remainder of the season.
Heide and Justo have met once previously on the professional circuit, with the Brazilian winning their encounter at the Campinas Challenger in April.
“There’s no way I can deny that a victory like mine over Wawrinka in the Davis Cup gives you a boost and confidence,” Heide said. “I’ve been feeling better with every match, talking to my coach and doing what we agreed on. Now it’s about making the most of these moments, climbing higher in the rankings and reaching the goal for the season, which is to get into the Australian Open.”
The Curitiba final will also have significant ranking implications. The champion will earn 75 ATP Ranking points, while the runner-up will receive 50.
Kestelboim and Zormann Claim Doubles Title
The doubles title went to Argentina’s Mariano Kestelboim and Brazil’s Marcelo Zormann, who came from a set down to defeat Eduardo Ribeiro and Guto Miguel 5-7, 7-6(3), 10-7.
The victory marked Kestelboim’s seventh doubles title of the season, while Zormann claimed his third trophy of the year. All three of the Brazilian’s titles in 2026 have come alongside Kestelboim.
The champions take home $4,980 and 75 ATP Ranking points, while runners-up Ribeiro and Miguel receive $2,880 and 50 points.
The doubles final featured two former Wimbledon junior doubles champions. Zormann won the boys’ doubles title in 2014, while Miguel captured the trophy earlier this year.
“I’m very happy with this title. It was a great match. I’d like to thank my partner and congratulate our opponents, especially Guto, who is still very young and has a great future ahead of him,” said Zormann. “I’d also like to thank Graciosa for hosting this tournament and the fans, who always fill the club and cheer for the Brazilian players. And tomorrow, I hope we have a great singles final.”
