Justo Lifts Campeonato Internacional De Tenis De Curitiba Trophy

Guido Ivan Justo clinched the title of the Campeonato Internacional de Tenis de Curitiba. The No. 8 seed from Argentina defeated top-seeded Brazilian Gustavo Heide 6-1, 6-4 in Sunday’s singles final.

Justo withstood three aces and broke his rival’s serve four times to secure victory in one hour and 44 minutes.

Justo, who has won four ITF World Tennis Tour titles, lifted his second ATP Challenger career trophy following his first Challenger triumph this season at the Challenger 50 in Tigre. His run in Curitiba is now the best result of his career. The 28-year-old Buenos Aires native earned $17,000 in prize money as well as 75 ATP Ranking points.

The Campeonato Internacional de Tenis offered a total prize pool of $107,000 and was held at the Graciosa Country Club in Curitiba, the capital of Parana in southern Brazil. The city is known for its green spaces, innovative urban planning and European-influenced architecture. With around two million inhabitants in the city, it is one of Brazil’s most important economic and cultural centers. Curitiba is famous for attractions such as the Botanical Garden, Oscar Niemeyer Museum and the large Barigui Park.
