One title, one final and plenty of unforgettable moments in Kitzbühel: Alexander Bublik has clearly developed a special affection for the Austrian resort town. Following his triumph in 2025 and another run to the final in 2026, the crowd favourite has already confirmed that he will return for the Generali Open in 2027. His early commitment provides the first major sporting highlight for the 83rd edition of the traditional ATP 250 tournament, with ticket sales having opened this week. Women’s tennis will also return to Kitzbühel, as the Generali Open Ladies prepares for its second edition following a successful debut, once again as a WTA 125 event.

Alexander Bublik and Kitzbühel seem to be a perfect match. With his spectacular shot-making, unconventional sense of humour and entertaining performances on court, the charismatic Kazakh has established himself as one of the tournament’s biggest crowd favourites over the past two years. In 2025, he celebrated his Kitzbühel debut by lifting the trophy, while in 2026 he came just one victory short of successfully defending his title after another impressive week.

His decision to commit to the tournament for a third consecutive year well in advance underlines the special connection he has developed with Kitzbühel. In July 2027, Bublik will return to the foot of the Hahnenkamm, hoping to reclaim his place on the Kitzbühel tennis throne.

“It seems that we have gained a real Kitzbühel fan,” said Tournament Director Alexander Antonitsch. “Alexander Bublik is a tremendous asset to our tournament, both because of his playing style and his personality. We are absolutely delighted that he has chosen Kitzbühel again so soon after winning the title and reaching the final once more.”

Two Weeks of Top-Class Tennis: Women’s Tournament Returns

Men’s tennis will not be the only attraction for fans next summer. Following its successful inaugural edition last year, the Generali Open Ladies will also return in 2027. The WTA 125 tournament will take place in Kitzbühel from July 11 to 18, followed by the 83rd edition of the ATP 250 event from July 17 to 24.

Last summer provided an impressive demonstration of how well men’s and women’s tennis complement each other in Kitzbühel. After a break of more than three decades, international women’s tennis made a successful return, producing a memorable all-Austrian final. Sinja Kraus and Julia Grabher faced each other in the championship match, with Kraus ultimately claiming the first Austrian women’s singles title in Kitzbühel since 1988.
