BAGNERES-DE-BIGORRE, September 5, 2016
It must have been one of the most bizarre results this season so far when Benjamin Tullou defeated Tomas Fabian 6-0, 6-0 in the first round of the qualifying to the $25,000 ITF Future event in Bagneres-De-Bigorre.
It is not only about the final score but more about the stats. The 26-year-old Frenchman didn’t lose one single point during the 26 minutes encounter.
Who is the man, losing in such a quick and unconvential way?
According to French website “Tennis Actu”, the 55-year-old Czech played with a Wilson racket, Adidas shoes and an old cotton dress, which all can be considered as a normal appearance. However, he also arrived with a Carrefour supermarket bag as a gym bag and was wearing a belly bag around the waist.
Tullou, a tennis teacher from Nice, told about a weird feeling he had after the encounter and explained that it was impossible to lose a point. He also raised the question, how it was possible for Fabian to enter the tournament at all.
The Czech appeared on the ITF Pro Circuit four times before without winning one single game. He lost in the first rounds of the Future events in Bressuire 2015, Ajaccio 2015, Forbach 2015 as well as in Most earlier this season.
