Rogerio Dutra Silva is the champion of the $50,000 Challenger Cachantun Open held at the Club Manquehe in Santiago de Chile. The top seed from Brazil defeated local favourite Nicolás Jarry, who entered the main draw with a wild card, in Saturday’s final 7-5, 6-3.
Dutra Silva saved eight of the nine break points he faced, converting three of his own to secure victory in one hour and 33 minutes. The World No. 85 captured his ninth ATP Challenger career title, hoisting his first singles trophy of the season. Dutra Silva takes away $7,200 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points.
Later the day, Jarry was back in action, winning the doubles final alongside his compatriot Marcelo Tomas Barrios Vera. The two Chileans upset the tournament’s number one tandem of Maximo Gonzalez and Andreas Molenti from Argentina 6-4, 6-3. The encounter lasted 68 minutes.
