Bouzkova Celebrates 10th ITF Career Title, Winning In Orlando

ORLANDO, March 15, 2017

Top seed Marie Bouzkova won the Orlando Professional Tennis Series, a $15,000 USTA Pro Circuit women’s event held at the new USTA National Campus at Lake Nona in Orlando. This was the final of four USTA Pro Circuit events held at the USTA National Campus.

The 18-year-old from the Czech Republic captured her 10th ITF Pro Circuit career title, winning Sunday’s singles final 7-5, 5-7, 6-0 against the tournament’s number two Victoria Rodriguez of Mexico.

Bouzkova capitalized on 10 of her 18 break point chances to seal victory in two hours and 19 minutes. It was the teenager’s second title of the season, following her triumph in Perth last month.

On Saturday, US-Americans Emina Bektas and Sanaz Marand clinched the doubles title with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Chiara Scholl from the United States and Marcela Zacarias from Mexico. The final lasted only 59 minutes.

The USTA Pro Circuit comprises of approximately 90 tournaments hosted annually throughout the country with prize money ranging from $15,000 to $125,000. Players who have made their start on the USTA Pro Circuit include Grand Slam champions Andy Murray, Andy Roddick, Angelique Kerber, and Victoria Azarenka. Next stop will be this week’s Bakersfield Open.
