Top seed Riccardo Bellotti clinched his first title of the season, winning the $15,000 ITF Pro Circuit event in Porec, the second stop on the ISTARSKA RIVIJERA clay court swing during March.
The 25-year-old from Italy defeated Czech youngster Zdenek Kolar, who lifted his maiden trophy at the Tenis Centre Pical exactly one year ago, in Sunday’s final 6-4, 6-3. Bellotti capitalized on four of his seven break point chances to prevail in one hour and 21 minutes.
The World No. 215, who was born in Vienna, claimed his 28th Futures career title. Bellotti takes away $1,944 in prize money as well as 18 ATP Ranking points.
On Saturday, Kolar teamed up Croat Nino Serdarusic to take the doubles title. The tournament’s number one seeds beat second favourites Ivan and Matej Sebanov of Croatia 6-3, 6-3. The encounter lasted 55 minutes.
The 45th edition of the Istarska Rivijera – the oldest international tennis event in Croatia – continues this week at the Umag Tennis Academy.
