GSTAAD, May 3, 2017

Organizers of the J. Safra Sarasin Swiss Open announced Wednesday morning that Viktor Troicki, Roberto Bautista-Agut as well as defending champion Feliciano López will join David Goffin at this year’s ATP 250 event, held from 24 to 27 July 2017 in Gstaad.

Troick will come to south-western Switzerland for the second time following his quarterfinal defeat to Fernando Verdasco in 2014. The 31-year-old from Serbia is currently ranked on World No. 38.

With five-time ATP World Tour winner Roberto Bautista-Agut and 2016 champion Feliciano López, two Spaniards will appear in Gstaad. The latter, who captured his fifth ATP career crown in the Swiss Alps last year, is a permanent guest at the tournament and will return for the 11th time.

In March, it was announced that David Goffin will be part of the line-up. He finished runner-up to Dominic Thiem in 2015, is the current No. 5 in the ATP Race to London and for sure one of the favourites for the title in Gstaad.

The 26-year-old Belgian reached the quarterfinals of the 2017 Australian Open and was a member of the Top 10 in February this year for the very first time.

“I love the tournament and I am looking forward to return to the Swiss Alps this year. The conditions suit my game very well and I hope for another successful week,” Goffin told.

The organizers are happy to present the world class player for the 102nd edition of the Swiss Open. “He is a very complete player, who is able to play outstanding tennis on every surface. The spectators will well remember his last appearance here and will look forward to seeing him return,” tournament director Jeff Collet stated.

The organizers also presented the “Gstaad Tennis Jackpot”, in which spectators will have the chance to attend either the J.Safra Sarasin Swiss Open or the second edition of the Ladies Championships Gstaad, held the week before the men’s event for 25,- CHF.

Fans just need to buy a ticket via www.swissopengstaad.ch or www.ladieschampionshipgstaad.ch and a random generator will determine its final day of validity.

“Attending a tennis tournament should be affordable to everyone. With these kind of tickes, a four-person familiy will have the chance to enjoy one day of tennis for 100,- CHF. Students will be also pleased,” co-tournament director Julien Finkbeiner explained.
