Paris 2024 Bid Committee And Ambassadors Meet At Roland-Garros

Ambassadors for Paris 2024 met at Roland Garros

PARIS, June 6, 2017 (Press Release)

Tony Estanguet, the Co-President of the Paris 2024 campaign, and Laura Flessel, the French Minister of Sport, paid a visit to Roland-Garros on Monday to kick off the 100-day countdown to the end of the Olympic bidding process.

In 100 days, the International Olympic Committee will announce the host of the 2024 Olympic Games in Lima (Peru). To mark the occasion, the ambassador athletes that have supported the French bid for the past two years met at Roland-Garros stadium.

If the bid is successful, Roland-Garros stadium will welcome the tennis, boxing, wheelchair tennis, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby events in 2024. As an iconic international venue, the stadium will host Paris 2024 celebrations for Games athletes and spectators. Together with the Parc des Princes and Stade Jean-Bouin, it will form a hub located just 12 km from the athletes’ village.
