PARIS, June 6, 2017 (Press Release)
The history between Roland-Garros, named after one of the pioneers of aviation, and Emirates, the world’s most prestigious airline company, is taking off for a new destination. The French Tennis Federation (FFT) and Emirates are proud to announce the extension of their partnership until 2022.
The French Grand Slam tournament and Emirates have agreed to extend their partnership before its scheduled end in 2017. As part of the new partnership, Dubai-based Emirates, Official Partner of the tournament since 2013, will be upgraded to Premium Partner status.
Under the terms of the new agreement, Emirates will continue to enjoy its premium hospitality facilities in the famous Roland-Garros Village, will see its courtside profile strengthened by additional exposure and will continue its association to the iconic plane camera flying above the courts of Roland-Garros.
This latest agreement between the world’s number 1 clay-court tournament and Emirates is in keeping with the development strategy for Roland-Garros, in which the new infrastructure, first class service and enhanced client experience will each play a key role.
“We are particularly pleased and honoured to continue our partnership with Emirates, a world-famous brand, confirming the airline’s strategy in tennis, and in Roland-Garros in particular. This partnership is a resounding vote of confidence in our tournament,” commented Bernard Giudicelli, President of the French Tennis Federation. “We share the same aims as Emirates: the constant pursuit of innovation and the determination to offer the public an unforgettable experience and flawless quality of service. The new agreement is also an integral part of our objective to reinforce the Roland-Garros brand on the international stage.”
“Emirates’ relationship with Roland-Garros has been a successful one. Watched by millions around the world, this renowned clay court grand slam is a fantastic platform for our brand to connect travellers with their passion for the sport. As Emirates celebrates its 25th anniversary in France, we are proud to extend our sponsorship of the event until 2022 and to elevate our participation to Premium Partner status”, commented Boutros Boutros, Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, Marketing and Brand.
Emirates airline operates 32 non-stop flights per week from France to Dubai – 20 services from Paris, 7 from Nice and five from Lyon. In Dubai, passengers can connect to flights to Emirates’ global network which spans 155 destinations across six continents in 84 countries.
