STUTTGART, June 7, 2017
While the French Open is entering a crucial stage, Tommy Haas and Michael Berrer opened the grass court season at the venue of the TC Weissenhof in Stuttgart on Wednesday afternoon.
Haas is preparing for his last appearance at the MercedesCup starting his Stuttgart campaign on Tuesday, 13th June. Berrer will step into action for an exhibition doubles event next Sunday.
“I am really looking forward to play on centre court in front of my home crowd for a very last time. I will enjoy the match as well as the atmosphere,” Berrer is impatient for competing.
The ATP 250 event is highlighted by the return of Roger Federer. The 35-year-old Swiss skipped the entire clay court season and will play his first match since beating Rafael Nadal in the final of the Miami Open in early April. It is also his first appearance on European soil this season. Federer will start his Stuttgart title quest on Wednesday, 14th June.
