Jan Choinski claimed his fourth ITF Futures title of the season and sixth overall, winning Sunday’s final of the $15,000 Karlsruhe Open presented by orthomol Sport. The 21-year-old German defeated former junior World No. 1 Mate Valkusz from Hungary 6-2, 6-4.
Choinski sent down three aces and broke serve eight times to secure victory in one hour and eight minutes. The World No. 368 earns $2,160 in prize money as well as 18 ATP ranking points. Choinski is projected to get into the Top-350 for the first time on Monday.
