The line-up for the quarterfinals of the €43,000 Torneo Città di Como – Trofeo “Intensa SanPaolo” has been completed. Italian wild card Matteo Donati upset the tournament’s number two Jerzy Janowicz of Poland on Thursday afternoon.
In a match without any breaks, the 22-year-old from Alessandria fired 13 aces, winning 80 per cent of his first service points to secure a 7-6, 7-6 victory in one hour and 40 minutes. Donati will next challenge French teenager Corentin Moutet, who knocked out sixth seeded Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-López 6-4, 6-3. The 18-year-old leftie finished the encounter after one hour and 20 minutes.
Filip Krajinovic benefited from the retirement of Mathias Bourgue of France, leading 6-2, 2-0. The third seed from Serbia will next take on Gastao Elias of Portugal, who edged past 17-year-old Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime 7-5, 6-4.
