Cedrik-Marcel Stebe clinched his seventh ATP Challenger title, winning Sunday’s final of the €43,000 Sibiu Open. The top seed from Germany edged past Spanish #NextGenATP player Carlos Taberner 6-3, 6-3.
Stebe won 79 per cent of his first service points and broke serve five times to prevail after one hour and 31 minutes. The 26-year-old earns €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP ranking points. It was the third trophy for Stebe this season, following his triumphs in Vancouver and Poprad Tatry.
Taberner lost his second ATP Challenger final in a row after finishing runner-up to Maximilian Marterer in Banja Luka last weekend.
