Barbora Strycova captured the singles title at the WTA International Upper Austria Ladies Linz, winning Sunday’s final against top seed Magdalena Rybarikova 6-4, 6-1.
The second favourite from Slovakia won 82 per cent of her first service points and broke serve five times to prevail after one hour and 27 minutes.
“I’m very happy, it’s the second title of my career, it’s sweet, it feels nice,” exclaimed Strycova during her post-match press conference, where she was also served her favourite Austrian dessert Kaiserschmarrn.
“Maybe the thoughts will come to me a little bit more tomorrow, but I feel relief, I feel very tired, but I feel very happy.”
