Robin Kern is the champion of the 2017 Daikin Open held at the TennisBase in Oberhaching. The 24-year-old German beat Scott Griekspoor from the Netherlands 6-3, 7-6 in Sunday’s final.
Kern, who finished runner-up at the $15,000 ITF Futures event the two previous editions, was in total control of the match, firing 14 aces and broke serve two times to seal victory in one hour and 31 minutes.
“I am very happy that it finally worked out for me to clinch the title here,” told Kern, who lives in Mannheim. “I really feel comfortable here at the TennisBase and the tournament is organized very well.”
He takes away €1,944 in prize money as well as 18 ATP ranking points.
