US-American Quartet Soars Into Las Vegas Tennis Open Quarterfinals

Four US-Americans advanced to the quarterfinals of the $50,000 Las Vegas Tennis Open on Wednesday. Fourth seed Stefan Kozlov beat Dominik Koepfer of Germany 6-4, 6-1.

The World No. 137 didn’t face a break point, converting three of his own to finish the encounter in only 57 minutes. Kozlov will face Kevin King in the stage of the final eight. The 26-year-old leftie from Peachtree City rallied past Marcos Giron 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in one hour and 51 minutes.

Bradley Klahn upset the tournament’s number six Michael Mmoh 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. The 27-year-old from California sent down seven aces, winning 76 per cent of his first service points to seal victory in one hour and 45 minutes. Next up for Klahn will be fellow US-American Evan King, who defeated Briton Brydan Klein 6-7, 6-3, 7-5 after two hours and 31 minutes.
