In the coming year, tennis fans in the south of Munich will be offered another international top tournament with the inaugural edition of the Isar Open held at the venue of the Tennis Club Großhesselohe from 4 to 12 August 2018. The ATP Challenger clay court event with a total prize money of $127,000 will feature a 32-man-singles draw as well as a doubles field with 16 teams.

“The IsarOpen is planned as an exclusive event in a family setting as one of the largest ATP Challenger tournaments in Germany. We are pleased that up to 20,000 spectators will get to know our beautiful tennis venue,” Bernard Eßmann, president of TC Grosshesselohe, said.

The tournament will join the Wolffkran Open in Ismaning, which also takes place in the greater area of Munich later in the year. It follows the week of the ATP 250 Generali Open in Kitzbühel, providing the opportunity for some of the players to extend their European clay court season for another week.
