TALLAHASSEE, December 14, 2014
Ryan Shane is the champion of the final ITF Pro Circuit event held on US-American soil this season. The 23-year-old from the United States captured the singles title of the $25,000 Tallahassee Futures presented by Visit Tallahassee, held at the Florida State University Indoor Tennis Facility from 4 to 10 December 2017.
Shane advanced to Sunday’s final with wins over compatriots Wil Spencer, Sam Riffice and Ulises Blanch as well as receiving a walkover in the quarterfinals, as Germany’s Mats Moraing was forced to withdraw from the match. The sixth seed upset the tournament’s number three Kaichi Uchida of Japan 7-6, 6-1 eventually in the final.
Shane fired nine aces and broke serve four times to secure victory in one hour and 33 minutes, clinching the title without dropping a set.
By lifting his second ITF Futures trophy of the season, following his triumph in Laguna Niguel, Shane took away $3,600 in prize money as well as 25 ATP ranking points.
