Organizers of the Internationaux BNP PARIBAS of New Caledonia revealed the entry list for the first ATP Challenger event of the new season, held at the Complexe tennistique Marie Louis Lhuillier Ouen Toro in Nouméa from 1st to 6th of January 2018.
World No. 56 Julien Benneteau is expected to start his season here as top seed of the $75,000 ATP Challenger event. The 35-year-old Frenchman will be joined by several compatriots including Mathias Bourgue, Benjamin Bonzi, Kenny De Schepper, Vincent Millot and Stephane Robert.
The line-up also includes a couple of the young guns such as Casper Ruud of Norway, Spaniard Jaume Munar, Corentin Moutet of France and US-American Stefan Kozlov.
For the 15th consecutive year, the French territory of New Caledonia kicks off the season. Nouméa is the capital and largest city of the French special collectivity of New Caledonia, situated in the southwest Pacific Ocean, 1,210 km (750 mi) east of Australia.
The tournament is played on outdoor hard courts. Defending champion is Adrian Mannarino, who clinched three titles in five years.
