MARBELLA, December 27, 2017
The Spanish city of Marbella will kick off the European clay court season on the ATP Challenger Tour next year, hosting the inaugural Casino Admiral Trophy, held at the Puente Romano Beach Resort and Spa from 24 to 31 March 2018 at the facilities of the Puente Romano Tennis Club.
The presentation of the tournament took place at a press conference attended by former Grand Slam champion Manuel Santana, World No. 127 Adrián Menéndez, ambassador of the Casino Admiral Trophy, as well as tournament director Ronald Leitgeb. The latter is known as former coach of Austria’s Thomas Muster.
Marbella, situated in the province of Málaga in the autonomous community of Andalusia, was part of the ATP Tour in 1985 and hosted an ATP Challenger event in 2012 when Albert Montanes emerged victorious from an all-Spanish-final with Daniel Munoz de la Nava.
The $50,000 ATP Challenger event is organized by Champ AG. The Centre Court will have a capacity of 2,500 spectators. For ticket infomation, please click here.
