WROCLAW, January 14, 2018

Organizers of the Wroclaw Open has cancelled its upcoming ATP Challenger Tour event, which was supposed to be held at Hala Orbita in February. Tournament director Pawel Jaroch told that “financial issues” led to the decision.

“That’s why we decided to take a break,” he added.

Yet, the organizers note that this is not the definitive end of the tournament, only an annual break.

The event, formerly known as KGHM Dialog Polish Indoors has been played since 2000. From 2010 to 2014 it disappeared from the tennis map and returned in 2015, as the Wrocław Open with a total prize money of €85,000. Champions of the last three editions were Farrukh Dustov of Uzbekistan, Marco Chiudinelli from Switzerland and Austrian veteran Jürgen Melzer.
